26. In 1943, while Jewish ballerina Franceska Mann was being made to undress at Auschwitz for delousing, she distracted an SS guard, took his pistol, and shot him dead.

30. Only one day before the German government surrendered in 1945, the British Royal Air Force wrongly thought the ocean liner SS Cap Arcona was a warship and sank it. The vessel was carrying 7,000 women, children, and prisoners who were Holocaust survivors.
