1. During World War II, an American pop culture craze led people to graffiti “Kilroy was here” throughout Europe, which made Hitler think Kilroy was a spy and even prompted Stalin to investigate who Kilroy was.

2. Adolf Hitler vowed to stop military tobacco use after the war ended and urged his close friends not to smoke. He even started giving a gold watch to anyone in his inner circle who managed to quit.

In 1942, Stalin had Timur’s remains buried again in Samarkand according to Islamic tradition, and soon after, the German army surrendered at Stalingrad, which ended their campaign against the Russians.
